I'm now over with Ubuntu, the last version added to much stone in my shoes. Back to the roots ! Debian :) now it's quite easier said than done, especially when speaking of stone, the stable version of Debian take me back into the aforementioned age.
But, what's very surprising is that a lot of things suddenly resumed working. Firefox starts fast once again, my raid is not failing to work 2/3 of the time, Rhythmbox works again, fully ; simply put I'm quite happy with it. It's a bit rough on the edges, but the core works ! -> quite the opposite of the recent versions of Ubuntu if you ask me...
Some stuff must be changed. No Pulseaudio means my Virtualbox machines are complaining there's no sound -> i set it up with Alsa, case closed. My company IPhone is still not working satisfactorily, but i'll solve it with time...
