Apple IPhone on Debian Squeeze

After following the indications here : http://wiki.debian.org/iPhone i was stopped cold at the line :

4) Connect the iPhone. Hit Cancel if you are asked if you wish to open it as a camera to import pictures. 

After connecting the IPhone i got a "Unable to mount leo's IPhone - Unhandled Lockdown error (-4)". It's actually a known problem and is related to the package libimobiledevice1. As i'm running a mixed squeeze/sid system, i also installed the sid package libimobiledevice2 but it didn't seem to change anything.

LDAP and password aging

Following the steps provided in the Ubuntu Server Guide, the newly created users with the smbldaptools will expire after one month. Of course, windows won't say anything else as "access denied".

I found the problem with smbclient -U, but the solution not yet. The smbldappasswd utility reset the expiration date to "setdate+30days" (even if the user was set to no expiry at all). I don't have the solution yet except using smbldap-usermod -B 0 afterwards.

I switch back to Debian !

I'm now over with Ubuntu, the last version added to much stone in my shoes. Back to the roots ! Debian :) now it's quite easier said than done, especially when speaking of stone, the stable version of Debian take me back into the aforementioned age.
